WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

“I love this story. It’s the wonderful journey of Laura – a woman coming into her own. Catlyne draws out Laura’s journey against all that is magical and wild about the Australian bush. The parallel between this land and Laura’s journey is powerful – both seeking and finding pathways to be themselves. Always drawn to stories of personal resilience, I find Laura’s journey particularly inspiring. She shifts from being unsure of herself and her strength at the beginning of the book, through the pain of abandonment and deceit, into a woman confident in who she is and what she stands for. Only then can she fight for the world as she wants it to be, and win. A great read, I recommend this book to anyone who seeks and enjoys stories of personal growth through overcoming obstacles.

“Set in the south of Western Australia, this is an extremely powerful story of a woman exploring her environment who ends up finding herself and an unexpected love. Catlyne captures a snapshot in time describing the fragility and changing hues of the natural environment where the city meets the bush, reflecting Laura’s own fragility and the need for her to adapt to new circumstances. There are elements of the significance of the land to the Aboriginal people while adding the complexities industry has had in disrupting an age-old culture. I imagine many people will read this book reminiscing about places they may have visited and hold memories, making connections, just as I did.”
